My Walk Has Never Been Average--This weekend!

Got to help out with some video on this important production. It sells out every time it runs so get tix now if it isn't too late! See link to write up from OPB below!

June 7, 2014 – What is it like to be a Black woman working in the construction trades in America? And if I’m not that woman, why should I care? How does her life impact mine?

The answer to that question will become apparent when you join the August Wilson Red Door Project and Oregon Tradeswomen, Inc, as they present My Walk Has Never Been Average followed by a Community Forum.

Steam Radio Syndicate happening tonight!

Tonight is the premiere of Portland's newest radio collective, offering up stories, songs and performances from a WWII steamship in N. Portland!  Hearts+Sparks will be there capturing the unique gathering of artists as it unfolds live! If conditions are suitable, I hope to take the Quadcopter with GoPro attached for a spin to get some aerial shots of the happenings. Video coming eventually, but you can also tune in tonight on KBOO 90.7 in Portland to catch the show!

Follow the link to hear what the Portland Mercury had to say about the whole thing:

Portland Women's Crisis Line Video Debut

After premiering at the Portland Women's Crisis Line annual fundraising event, Safety in Numbers, is now on YouTube!

Hearts+Sparks was super proud to make this for an organization critical to our community. We worked with PWCL Director, Rebecca Peatow Nickels to develop a scenario that would highlight what it's like to actually get a call, but also the work of their volunteers. In this case, the volunteer was also a survivor, making her the perfect person to attest to the value of the organization.

It's worth noting that the video was intended for a sit down audience, rather than internet viewing where attention span is much shorter.

Music was created by The Cabin Project after I did a rough edit and then the final edit was actually cut to the music. We hope it helped raise a ton of money!
