I've been a fan of Living Cully for a while now so I was thrilled to have a chance to help tell their story. Learn about their innovative anti-displacement work in NE Portland. Here's the video:

A video we made a while back to help Portland Women's Crisis Line raise money at one of their events, is currently being included on a piece on Charlene, a woman who experiened domestic abuse and courageously pulled her life back together with the help of that organization.
You can read about Charlene's incredible story here. Scroll down to see our video under Resources.

Excited to work with Oregon Community Health Workers again. This time it was to help explain their Warriors of Wellness program. I learned a lot about the value of culturally specific programming in healthcare! Watch and discover how community health workers fill the gap!

I'm a former board member at Bitch Media so when they need a video, I'm happy to oblige. They're one of my favorite local (and national) non-profits.
We did some shooting over at Lewis and Clark to make this promo for their Bitch on Campus program that brings speakers to campuses across the country to talk about a feminist response to pop culture.
Here's the video:

About two years ago I made a video for Oregon Community Health Workers or ORCHWA to help explain who they are and what they do. At the time, I wasn't familiar with their work. At all. But the more I learned and continued to work with them (on two more videos right now), the more convinced I was that they are an essential part of the chain of people that provide healthcare to our community. A lot of times, these folks are the front line for health, helping to connect specific communities to the often monolithic systems that provide support to us as a whole.
Above is a photo of Zeenia Junkeer and Celia Higueras from our shoot last week. Celia and I interviewed a number of CHWs to talk about their work.

I got to work with Know Your City and Lukas Borsten last month to make this quick little video to promote their free walking tour entitled "Sing a Song of Portland." Know Your City is a local non-profit that among other things, helps us learn more about the community we live in, but often through the lens of underrepresented voices. I am a big fan of their social justice work like this or this.

A series of videos I made for the Laborers union last year was just released. They are part of an amazing new website and will help create greater access to living wage jobs by providing an online orientation. A couple of my pics from the Tilikum Crossing bridge construction (like the one above) also appear. It was so much fun to travel around and shoot this series out in the field.
The first in the series can be found on this page: http://www.oregonlaborers.com/apply/

H+S' latest video came out today. It's a sequel to last year's Two Bike Shops in Love and features Gladys Bikes, Kenton Cycle Repair and Cat Six in a bit of a love triangle. It was super fun to make and help promote these local bike shops who would much rather support each other than compete!
Here's the original from last year for context:

It's the season for giving and as a board member for North by Northeast Community Health Center, I volunteered to make a video for them to help promote the important work they do in our community. Watch and learn about outreach worker Rosetta Forbes who literally takes her work to the streets! Bonus: she sings!

For the past couple of weeks, I've been quietly working on two videos for Joy of Cooking! Stay tuned for video releases!

A new video declaring the love of Gladys Bikes and Kenton Cycle Repair! They gave Hearts+Sparks the concept and I wrote up some options for a short storyline. We got lucky with a beautiful Sunday morning sun and this is what we came up with!
The campaign got a write up here. Head over to http://gladysbikes.com/2bikeshopsinlove/ to learn more about the campaign and support a couple of awesome local businesses.

New video released for Justin Levy! He wanted something that would introduce potential clients about his form of healing so we set up a backdrop and interviewed various clients to put this together, intercut with his explanation of what he does.
A longer version is also being made for those who might be interested in something more than three minutes...
