Governor Kate Brown signs bill to expand incentives to make film in Oregon

Governor Kate Brown signs bill to expand incentives to make film in Oregon

Today, as a new member of the Oregon Media Production Assocation or OMPA, I was honored to be invited to attend the signing of Bill 1507 with Governor Kate Brown. I'm excited about how a bill like this will grow greater opportunities for filmmakers and skilled crew here. In some ways, I am just getting started with my career. Every year, I learn more and more about where I want to go and how I want to get there and because of this, it feels really good to be connected with a strong group that benefits filmmakers.

As a kind of bonus to meeting some outstanding professionals in the state, I found myself in a conversation with a woman named Margaret. I slowly realized that I was chatting up former Senator Margaret Carter (above)!! What an amazing woman. We ended up getting lunch and I'm completely inspired by her leadership path and dedication to the community.

On top of that, we got a tour of Laika Studios! Amazing.

Here's a photo with me, OMPA and the Governor!
